Model Sonja

I first photographed Sonja when she was twelve. She would come to our house to visit my wife, Maria. I think I gave her five dollars and some photographs to model a baseball hat and an apron for a local restaurant. She was a young girl with a beautiful mane of unruly hair and a big, friendly smile. She was charming then and she continues to be so.

Sonja has grown to be tall and willowy but she has kept a quality of innocence and friendliness that was so appealing when I first me her. Her strength is her great natural beauty. I wanted her natural, fresh look to shine through so I photographed her in February 2012 with only minimal makeup.
