Welcome to the Footloose Photographer website! It is an eclectic mix of portrait, glamour, landscape and location photography with a little philosophy and storytelling mixed in.

Photography is storytelling without words. It is about making us care about people we have never met or places we have never been because we recognize, even if only by dim and imperfect light, the shadows and contours of our own life. Photography touches directly that part of us where dreams, hopes, beauty, love and fear reside and what is communicated by that touch is a whisper for our ears alone.

Photography teaches us that we can find beauty nearly everywhere we look. It teaches us that there is beauty in a careworn face, in a parched land, amidst rubble and decay, in courage, and in dignity. Sometimes there is beauty in suffering and sometimes even in death. Above all, photography teaches us that our world is comprised of an infinite display of colors and shades and that even the darkest places are not completely without light.
